Nanjing Hexi CBD
 
Location
Nanjing Hexi CBD lies at the central area of Hexi New Town,to the south of SongHuajiang Road , north of Jiangshan Square, east of Jiangdong Road, west of Lushan Road. It is 4 km long and covers an area of 2 km2 . Its total construction area is 6,000,000 m2. It consumes an investment of 3 billion yuan.
 
There are totally 13 projects and 16 buildings in CBD Phase I. Eight projects including Zixin, Songdu, Zijin, Dongdu, Zhongtai, Renheng, Jiaye, and New Town Mansion have been put into use; Liangqiang is about to finish the construction of the main part of the building, expected to be put into use by the end of 2008. Europe Town, Jinao Mansion, Xindi Center, and Yuren International are under construction. CBD ecological axis (demonstration part) and Central Park are open to the public since May 2008.
 
Nanjing Hexi CBD is easily accessible due to full-fledged traffic network. .The distance from CBD to ancient downtown area is merely 7 km. CBD is connected to airport, railway station, and highway via urban expressways and Metro Line I and II. The tunnel running across the Yangtsz River, expected to be put into operation in 2010, will make the cross-river travel easier and faster.
 
Three Key Industries in Nanjing Hexi CBD
First is financial industry, aiming at becoming a financial center.
Focus on attraction of local financial regulatory bureaus, and financial firms including their training bases, data centers, and business support centers. So far, a number of financial firms have moved in to run business. Jiangsu Regulatory Bureaus of Insurance, Securities, and Banking have made it clear their intention to move in. Nanjing Trial Zone of Insurance Innovation is waiting to be endorsed by CIRC. A financial education base developed in partnership with Nanjing University has been in good operation.
 
Second is IT industry, aiming at becoming a high-tech industry zone.
Focus on attraction of media groups, EC and telecommucation companies. So far, Xinhua News- paper Group and China Mobile Nanjing Company, together with a good number of such kinds of companies, have moved in.  
 
Third is retail service, aiming at becoming a quality commerce zone.
Being a municipal commerce center, CBD phase I has a commerce area of 500,000 m2 . With a quality commerce center as a goal, Carrefour Hexi Shop is to open by the end of the year.
 
Projects
Liangqiang International Building
It’s a 36-story building with a construction area of 97,000 m2  
The space in the building can be used as offices, hotels, and shops.
Jinao Building
It’s a 54-story building with a construction area of 218,000 m2  
The space in the building can be used as offices, hotels, and shops.
Nanjing Xindi Center
It’s a 54-story building with a floor area of 1800 m2 on each story.  
The space in the building can be used as offices, hotels, and shops.
 
Commerce
Jiaye Shopping Center has a business area of 40,000 m2 . It aims at attracting large-scale chain shops, quality retail shops, restaurants, and leisure companies.
 
Zhongtai International Square has a business area of 70,000 m2. It accommodates quality shopping center and department stores.
 
Zixin China Square Pedestrian Street has an area of 38,000 m2, a seat for shopping street projects.
 
Europe Town has an area of 116,000 m2, a site for supermarkets, food center, big markets, and pedestrian street.
 
Nanjing International Exhibition Center
Nanjing International Exhibition Center lies at the heart of Hexi New Town. Metro Line I and II take you directly to the center. Nanjing International Exhibition Center consists of exhibition hall, conference center, and supplementary facilities. The exhibition hall is divided into eight exhibition rooms and one multi-functional room. Total construction area is 160,000 m2 . Other facilities include lecture hall, ball room, meeting room, restaurants, and a hotel for 500 people.
 
Land for sale
Hexi CBD Phase II has a land area of one km2. There are 13 projects in it. Such companies as Huatai Securities, Unicom Jiangsu, China Mobile Nanjing, Nanjing Newspaper Group, Sun Hung Kai, American Fudun, Guotai Junan Securities, Bank of Communications Jiangsu have put their local head offices here.
There is only one piece of land in Hexi CBD Phase II left for sale. It has 47,000 m2 ,24,000 m2  of which is ready for transfer. It is planned for office uses by financial firms, IT companies or R&D center. It is easily accessed by city express ways and metro lines.
